The PERSIL Abaya Design Awards will evolve in 2012 whereby professional abaya designers, within the GCC region, are invited to send in their designs and compete at finale fashion show judged by independent judges from the industry.

Marriage guidance counselors from the Islamic Affairs Department will be present at The Bride Show Abu Dhabi to offer advice to brides-to-be.

The Bride Shows 2012 Survey Results
The Survey polled over 700 females, with the objective of uncovering the latest attitudes towards all aspects of weddings, from fashion, to jewellery – and offering an accurate bridal snapshot for the region.
- 85.5% of women surveyed preferred DIAMOND stone for an engagement ring
- 66.4% would rather attend a henna party instead of a western style hen party
- 45.5% stated that they preferred the traditional bridal look of Catherine Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge
- 42.1% polled that they would like to have only one dress to wear for their wedding
- 36.7% of the surveyors stated that they would take 6 months to 1 year to plan their wedding
